How to make matcha latte at home

A simple step-by-step matcha latte recipe — and where to get quality matcha.

You can make a matcha latte at home in a few minutes. The key is quality ceremonial matcha and proper whisking. Here's our method — and when you don't feel like whisking, drop by for the real thing.

What you'll need

Ceremonial matcha (1–2 g), a bamboo chasen whisk (or an electric frother), a sieve, warm water (~80 °C, not boiling) and milk of your choice.

Step by step

1) Sift the matcha into a bowl. 2) Add a little hot water (80 °C). 3) Whisk with the chasen in a 'W' motion for about 20 s until foamy. 4) Pour into a glass with milk (hot or over ice). Done.
